The Stars My Destination is cyberpunk because the way that the mass majority of people in the book live their lives is low, decietful, and "hardcore", but the contradiction is the fact that the technology and knowledge is way more civilized then we live our lives now. People in the book actions become irrational and their conscinces seem to disappear. The high tec aspect is jaunting, using telepathy, and being surgically modified like Gully Foyle who gains super hero like powers with a flick of his tonue on his teeth. The only problem that we find with the book following the idea of cyberpunk genre is that this genre is generally associated with computers and in the book computers are not used.
